A Creamy Ranch That Skips the Dairy and Keeps the Comfort

A good ranch built on coconut cream instead of buttermilk and mayo still carries that same herby, tangy pull that makes raw vegetables genuinely appealing. Stir it together, chill it, and it does the same job any ranch has always done at your table.

Fresh lemon juice is a source of vitamin C, which supports immune function and helps the body absorb iron from the plants alongside it. Full-fat coconut cream carries the creaminess, no dairy required, and the dill and garlic powder do the rest of the work.

Chill it and set it beside your plate. Small, dependable pleasures like a good dip are part of what keeps the table a place worth returning to.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Note: texture depends heavily on which coconut cream you use. Boxed creamed coconut needs softening per its package directions first or the dip sets up hard and lumpy. Canned coconut cream thickens in the fridge but stays spoonable. For a coconut-free version, the source suggests mashed avocado as a texture match.

Method

  • Add all the ingredients to a bowl and stir until smooth and evenly combined.
  • Cover and chill for about 30 minutes so the flavors come together and the dip firms up.
  • Serve as a dip for raw vegetables, or thin it slightly and use it as a salad dressing.
