A cold glass of something bright, built the honest way: whole peaches and pineapple do the sweetening, with only a little honey to round it out. No refined sugar, nothing artificial, real fruit and water.
Lemon and pineapple are both a source of vitamin C, involved in the everyday repair of connective tissue and in supporting immune function. The drink is mostly water and blended fruit, so it hydrates while it refreshes, and steady hydration helps everything run more smoothly.
Make a pitcher and keep it cold. Pour it over ice into a glass you like, and let it be a genuine pleasure. Even a glass of lemonade can be made with care and met with a little gratitude for the fruit that went into it.
Ingredients
- 2 large peaches, pitted
- 1 small pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 4 cups chilled water, divided
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup honey
- Ice
Method
Add the peaches, pineapple, half the water, the lemon juice, and the honey to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
Pour the blended mixture into a pitcher and stir in the remaining 2 cups of water.
Serve over ice. For a fizzy version, replace the still water you stir in at the end with sparkling water.
